Uganda has over 9,639,000 Primary and Secondary students both in rural and urban private and government schools, with over 498,769 refugee students situated in refugee settlement camps as of the year 2025.

The average attendance in schools and classrooms is 80% due to a number of factors within 260 school days out 365 days every year.

As students move from home to school and from school to home or even while at school, there is a consistent unpredictable weather change due to the tropical and humid equatorial climate that is characterized by the wet/rainy seasons and the dry season. The Ugandan climate is year throughout with severe cold conditions in the morning and evening time and sometimes even during the day. When it rains, it means that students have to experience a cold for a day or days while at school or even at home. This highly affects 46% of Upper primary and Lower secondary students

Exposing 34% of them to respiratory illnesses, which leads them to stay away from class and school while at home or sickbeds contributing to 26% absenteeism hence driving low grades academic performance.

Parents and guardians desire to see their children in good health and getting to school amidst all conditions, all year throughout. This keeps them spending on alternative solutions that do not prevent or solve the problem, just to prevent unplanned medical expenses that are over the academic budget.

At the other end schools struggle to keep and maintain classroom attendance as the change in weather keeps unpredictable, students attendance gets unpredictable. This puts schools at stake to prove they have better facilities to deliver good quality education.

I never knew a jacket could be so versatile. The Nowase 2-in-1 keeps me warm on chilly mornings, shields me from sudden rain, and yet is light enough to carry around all day. It’s become my go-to for work, travel, and weekend adventures.

The moment I wore the Nowase 2-in-1 Jacket, I felt prepared for anything. The inner layer is cozy and snug, and the outer shell is perfect for windy, rainy days. I’ve received so many compliments on the style, and it’s comfortable enough to wear all day without feeling bulky.

Carrying heavy schoolbags is tough, but this jacket is lightweight and easy to wear. The removable inner layer is perfect because some days are chilly, some are sunny, I can adjust instantly. I honestly recommend it to every student!

Good Health. Great Education. One Jacket at a Time.

Behind every student’s success is more than just books and classrooms, it’s well-being, safety, and consistency. For many children in Uganda and across Africa, poor health caused by cold and rain leads to missed school days, low performance, and broken dreams.

With every jacket we provide, we’re not just covering a child from the rain. We’re helping them stay healthy enough to learn, focused enough to grow, and confident enough to lead.
